CottageLINK Rental Management was founded in 2003 by Heather Bayer & Craig White.

Heather is from England and had her first experience of cottage rental in the mid 1990s when she spent a week in a cottage in Muskoka enjoying some time between the weddings of her brother in Midland, and her niece in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She describes it like this:

“We sat on the rocks at sunset and watched the sun go down, sipping cold beer. We shared stories and sang songs around the campfire, and looked in awe at starlit skies that city people could only dream of. The children dived off the dock into the clearest water and delighted in catching fish on dusk boating trips. My morning swim became a ritual. At six am, when the rest of the family were still asleep, I would tiptoe outside and marvel at the mist rising off the lake and the haunting call of the loons; step gingerly into the cool water and push off for a blissful twenty minutes of peaceful swimming. We played games I thought I’d long forgotten and made up some that will be remembered for ever. And I cried when we had to leave.”

After this, Heather and her husband bought their own cottage in Ontario  and fell so much in love with Canada, they immigrated in 2003.  Heather’s experience of renting out her own cottages & her enjoyment at creating a wonderful experience for her guests has helped her create a high standard that she expects all CLRMs owners to match.  She particularly enjoys talking to rental clients and finding just the right cottage for their needs.
