After a varied career firstly as a psychologist, psychotherapist and counsellor, and latterly as a management trainer, I finally followed the call to my homeland and emigrated from England to Canada in 2003.
Following a vacation in a cottage on Gibson Lake in 1997, and discovering the delights of cottage country living, we bought our first cottage. Furnishing this and getting it ready for rental was so much fun, we bought some more, and by the time we moved, had five properties we were renting out.
In 2004 I put all I’d learnt from this into ‘Renting for Profit – a guide to successfully managing your cottage rental business’. The second edition of this has just been published by Self Counsel Press and renamed ‘Renting your Recreational Property for Profit’ which is now available in Chapters and online at Amazon.
