On The Bruce Trail – More Fall Hikes
by cottageguru on September 18, 2007
I love to hike in the fall. The weather can be fabulous as it is today, the fall colours are developing nicely, and the days are still of a good length to enjoy into the early evening. I was surfing to find some new routes this morning and came across this great list of guided hikes in the Beaver Valley. These are in addition to the 40 hikes listed on the Bruce Trail, Canada’s oldest and longest public footpath. These make an easy day trip out of the city, but a much better idea would be to rent a cottage for a couple of days and explore this beautiful region at the same time.
Camperdown is a delightful property near Meaford, not too far from Beaver Valley. For hikes near Owen Sound, take a look at A Whisper in Time, a comfortably furnished, pet friendly, log cabin on Howdenvale Bay. And for exploring a little further north, Willow Bank near Tobermory will bring you to additional trails in the Bruce Peninsula National Park.
